LOWELL HISTORIC DISTRICT
National and State Park
The Davis Block is located in downtown Lowell, Massachusetts in the heart of the
National Park near the local transportation area right in the center of the city.
It has an exterior of red brick and natural oak store fronts . This building was renovated
to restore the facade to approxmate its appearance at the turn of the century. Several other
adjacent buildings have either been renovated to those standards or are
planned for the same type of renovation in the near future. This building is on the National Historical Building Register .
Lowell is a city on the rise as evidenced by the tremendous increase in business
activity in the past two years. Following are just a few of the important projects
that have recently been completed or are under construction adjacent to, or in close
proximity (1/4 mile or less) to, the Davis Block.
Expansion of the University of Lowell and the Middlesex Community
College into several major buildings in the downtown Lowell area.
New baseball stadium and professional baseball team.
New indoor hockey arena and professional hockey team.
Five million dollar renovationof the Bon Marche Building (just accross
the street - see photo above) at 155 Merrimack St. along with
renovation underway of the building at 117 Merrimack St. and a multi million dollar renovation
of the Cherry & Webb Building at 105 Merrimack Street. (See photo above)
There is a beehive of activity (actual and proposed projects too numerous to mention) happening in this immediate
area and the Davis Block is right in the center of it all!!
This is an excellent real estate investment
opportunity.
